Hope for Our Vets

A presentation in recognition of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month
with Nancy ALBIN and Guido PICCAROLO, Founders of Los Angeles Habilitation House
Presented by Crossroads Cultural Center
Facing nearly 34,000 returning soldiers from the war, this year will mark nearly 12 years of ongoing conflict in Afghanistan and 10 years in Iraq. Returning to civilian life, these veterans face a myriad of personal challenges, not the least of which is facing the wounds of war that have marked a generation. With one in five veterans homeless in California and an astounding 15 suicides a day, we are left asking ourselves, “Is there hope?” With the help of Los Angeles Habilitation House’s founders, Guido Piccarolo and Nancy Albin, we will see how their proposal of work does not take away the personal drama, but gives new gusto in facing the challenge of life.
The event is open to the public and free of charge.About this Event
