My Kid Could Paint That!

A journey through the meaning of modern art

With Dr. Francis GREENE, Art Historian

Presented by Crossroads Cultural Center

This event seeks to understand better the political, emotive and transcendent side of abstract and modern art and how the nature of abstract art lends itself to expressing what is beyond by mere words.

We are interested in a journey into the philosophy that shaped the lives that gave birth to this radical expression, including Rothko, Kandinsky, de Kooning, Mondrian and Pollock. We don't want to take the meaning for granted, nor do we want to stop at the visceral reactions that are provoked looking at these works of art, but through Dr. Greene's presentation, we seek to arrive at a new awareness of the nature of modern art.

The event is open to the public and free of charge.
