Not surprising

A side effect of the crisis of Arab nationalism and the rise of political Islam is that many Arab Christian may become more sympathetic to Israel.

I commend the new political party and all efforts to bridge enmities, and fully recognize how Islamic fundamentalism has so threatened the Palestinian Christian Israeli community, but This article, by an Israeli writer in the pro-Israeli WSJ, completely distorts the reality of Palestinian Christians living as second-class citizens of Israel. Even mainstream media like 60 Minutes captures the reality better - see http://www.cbsnews.com/news/christians-of-the-holy-land/ and read any of Patriarch of Jerusalem Fuad Twal's statements deploring the Israeli occupation. Mind boggling to imagine a Christian Arab IDF officer (all of 3 or 4 I imagine) serving in the West Bank or participating in the invasion of Gaza and oppressing his own fellow Palestinians, including Christians. What a deep shame! To read from an Israeli IDF perspective what the Occupation does to men's souls check out their testimonies at http://www.seruv.org.il/english/signers.asp
